How we work

Implementation timeline — from 25 days to 3 months. We set the exact timeline after the Gap analysis.

1

Gap analysis

We visit the enterprise and assess the current state against the standard's criteria. You receive a nonconformity map and a clear work plan.

2

Documentation development

We develop policies, procedures, regulations and records — not from templates, but tailored to your real practice.

3

Implementation and training

We implement processes, train staff, conduct an internal audit and a management review.

4

Certification

We support the certification audit with accredited partners — until you receive the certificate.

ISO certification in Uzbekistan: the complete process

Everything you need to know before you get an ISO certificate in Uzbekistan — steps, bodies, timelines and costs

Demand for ISO certification in Uzbekistan has grown rapidly over the last few years. Government procurement rules increasingly require management system certificates, large Uzbek companies ask their suppliers for ISO 9001, and exporters cannot enter the EU, Middle East or CIS markets without recognized conformity documents such as CE marking, Halal certification or FSSC 22000. For many organizations the question is no longer whether to certify, but how to do it quickly, at a reasonable cost, and with a system that actually works after the auditors leave.

Altavis Group is an ISO consultant in Tashkent with a team that has been implementing management systems for more than 15 years. Below we explain, step by step, how ISO certification in Uzbekistan works in practice — from the first diagnostics to the certificate on your wall — and what affects the timeline and the price.

Step 1. Gap analysis — honest diagnostics before you spend money

Every project starts with a gap analysis. Our consultants visit your site (in Tashkent or any region of Uzbekistan), interview key employees, review existing documents and compare your current processes with the requirements of the chosen standard — ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 22000, ISO 27001 or any other. The result is a nonconformity map: a clear list of what already complies, what needs adjustment and what is missing entirely.

This stage protects your budget. Instead of paying for a generic "turnkey package", you see the real scope of work, a fixed price and a realistic timeline before the main project begins. For companies that already have documented procedures — for example, manufacturers supplying state enterprises — the gap analysis often shows that 60–70% of the system is already in place, which shortens the project significantly.

Step 2. Documentation that reflects your real practice

The second stage is the development of management system documentation: quality policy and objectives, process maps, procedures, work instructions, registers and forms. The most common mistake companies make when they try to get an ISO certificate in Uzbekistan on their own is downloading template documents from the internet. Auditors spot such "paper systems" immediately, and the system dies within months because employees simply cannot work by rules written for a different company.

We write documents around your actual processes. If your production team already keeps records in a certain format, we adapt the standard's requirements to that format instead of forcing a foreign bureaucracy onto them. This approach is why systems implemented by our team survive surveillance audits year after year: people follow the documents because the documents describe what they really do — just organized according to the standard.

Step 3. Implementation, training and internal audit

Documentation alone does not bring certification. During the implementation stage we launch the processes: employees start keeping the required records, managers conduct the first management review, and responsible specialists learn to monitor the indicators the standard requires. Our trainers deliver practical sessions for your staff — from top management to line workers — in Russian, Uzbek or English.

The stage finishes with a full internal audit conducted by our auditors together with your trained internal auditors. We simulate the real certification audit: the same sampling logic, the same interview techniques, the same evidence requirements. All findings are corrected before the external auditors arrive, so the certification audit itself becomes a formality rather than a lottery.

Step 4. Certification audit with an accredited body

Certificates in Uzbekistan are issued by accredited certification bodies. We work with several internationally recognized partner bodies, which allows us to recommend the option that fits your goals: a body accredited in the national system for domestic tenders, or a body with international accreditation (IAF MLA signatories) when the certificate must be accepted by foreign customers — for example, for export contracts or participation in international supply chains.

The certification audit is usually conducted in two stages: a documentation review (Stage 1) and an on-site compliance audit (Stage 2). Our consultants accompany you during both stages — we help your team answer auditors' questions correctly, provide evidence and close minor nonconformities on the spot. Our clients pass Stage 2 without major nonconformities because they arrive prepared.

How much does ISO certification cost in Uzbekistan?

The ISO certification cost in Uzbekistan depends on four factors: the number of employees, the number of sites to be audited, the complexity of processes, and the chosen standard. A service company with 15 employees in one Tashkent office is a completely different project from a food manufacturer with 300 workers and two production sites needing ISO 22000 and Halal certification. This is why honest consultants never quote a price before asking at least a few questions about your company.

The total budget normally consists of two parts: consulting (gap analysis, documentation, implementation, training, internal audit and audit support) and the certification body's fee for the audit itself. We work under a contract with a fixed price — the amount agreed at the start does not change in the middle of the project. Leave a request on this page, and within one working day we will calculate the exact cost and timeline for your company free of charge.

How long does certification take?

A realistic timeline is from 25 days to 3 months. A small company with well-organized processes can complete ISO 9001 implementation in about a month. Medium-sized manufacturers typically need two to three months, especially when the standard requires product testing or equipment calibration — as with ISO 13485 for medical devices or Oeko-Tex certification for textiles. We never promise "a certificate in three days": such offers mean buying a paper without a system, which will not survive the first serious customer audit or surveillance visit.

Which standards are most in demand in Uzbekistan?

ISO 9001 (quality management) remains the most requested standard — it is required for state procurement, tenders of large holdings and as a baseline for industry-specific systems. ISO 22000, HACCP and FSSC 22000 are essential for food producers and exporters: retail chains and foreign buyers require proof of food safety management. Halal certification in Uzbekistan is growing fast — it opens the markets of the Middle East, Malaysia and Indonesia for food, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.

ISO 45001 (occupational health and safety) and ISO 14001 (environmental management) are standard requirements in construction, oil and gas, and mining — often together with ISO 9001 as an integrated management system. ISO 27001 (information security) is increasingly requested by banks, payment organizations, IT companies and outsourcing providers working with international clients. CE marking for Uzbekistan-made products is the gateway to the European market for machinery, electronics, construction products and personal protective equipment. Textile and garment exporters usually need Oeko-Tex certification and Sedex/SMETA audits required by European brands.

ISO accreditation in Uzbekistan: how to verify a certificate

A certificate has value only if it is issued by an accredited body and can be verified. Before choosing a certification route, we always clarify where the certificate will be used: for domestic tenders a nationally accredited body is usually sufficient, while foreign customers often require a body whose accreditation is recognized under the IAF Multilateral Recognition Arrangement. We help you check the accreditation status of the body and, after the audit, the authenticity of the issued certificate in the relevant register — so your document will stand up to any customer or tender verification.

What happens after certification?

An ISO certificate is valid for three years, with annual surveillance audits by the certification body. Many companies discover that maintaining the system is harder than building it: employees change, processes drift, documents become outdated. That is why we offer post-certification support: we prepare you for surveillance audits, update documentation when the standard or your processes change, and train new employees. Our goal is not a certificate that hangs on the wall — it is a management system that keeps passing audits and keeps improving your business.

Integrated management systems: one project instead of three

Many Uzbek companies need several certificates at once — most often the combination of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 for construction and industrial tenders, or ISO 22000 with Halal and HACCP for food exporters. Because these standards share the same high-level structure, we build them as a single integrated management system: one set of processes, one documentation package, one internal audit programme. This approach typically saves 30–40% of the budget and timeline compared with three separate projects, and — just as importantly — your employees work with one coherent system instead of three parallel bureaucracies. During the gap analysis we always check whether integration makes sense for your case.
